Liaoning Birla Carbon (LBCCL) is a joint venture between Thai Carbon Black Co. Ltd., Thailand, an Aditya Birla Group company, and Dashiqiao Ronghua Co. Ltd.

Located in the Liaoning province in north east China, the company is engaged in the manufacture and marketing of furnace grade Carbon black, marketed under the brand name Birla Carbon. It commenced operations in July 2003 and currently has an installed capacity of 52,000 mt per annum. It is a very strategically located unit with all major multinational tyre companies in the same area.

The plant operates with state-of-the-art technology adopting oil furnace wet palletised technological process and re-use of waste water through recycling, thus ensuring zero discharge.

LBCCL believes in providing challenging responsibilities to all its employees based on merit and capability. The company has taken a major step in this direction by appointing local Chinese nationals in key and critical roles, so they adapt to the world class manufacturing practices.

LBCCL caters to markets in Japan, Europe, India, Thailand, Columbia and UAE.

Liaoning Birla Carbon services multinationals like Bridgestone, Goodyear, Michelin, Sumitomo, Toyo, Mistubishi, Hankook, Kumho, etc. and Indian tyre majors like JK, Ceat, MRF, etc. The company also serves customers from the conveyor belt and rubber parts industry — known as the mechanical rubber goods (MRG) industry.

Carbon black demands special packaging, designed for safe handling during storage and transportation. In order to meet customer requirements, LBCCL has different kinds of packages, such as 20/25kg in multi-wall kraft paper bags, with different colour coding for easy identification, and also 500-kg and 1000-kg poly-bulk bags for special requirement from large customers.

Quality control and customer service
Focused on being a high quality manufacturer, LBCCL products are classified into multiple grades, which are as per internationally accepted nomenclature. These cater to the customers, who range from global tyre majors to plastic product, inks and coatings manufacturers. Departmental activities are in tune with the best practices in the industry. The analysis of the output is as per proven ASTM methods and laid down quality plan.

LBCCL was awarded the certificate of honour as a quality service credit AAA credibility enterprise issued by the China Socio-Economic Survey Institute Economic Survey Department and Liaoning Province Regional Economic Research Society Credibility Survey and Evaluation Center in March 2006.
