Group Information Technology (Group IT) works closely with businesses, corporate functions and partners, providing strategic direction and thought leadership to the Group's IT initiatives. It is responsible for formulating and administering IT policies covering standards, information security and governance. Group IT has deep roots in all our businesses thanks to the critical role of IT teams working seamlessly to drive Group IT's innovation and transformation agenda for the Aditya Birla Group.

Group IT manages the Centre of Excellence and Global Shared Help Desk for supporting enterprise-wide business applications including SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle Apps, Business Intelligence and Corporate Performance Management practices. Group IT engages with business transformation projects in deploying enterprise architecture and best practices, and to maximise business value of IT.

The Group has implemented a single worldwide model of PeopleSoft covering end-to-end processes — from recruitment to performance appraisal to increment processing. Group IT leads corporate initiatives in cost improvements, innovations, acquisitions and divestments, e-commerce, knowledge management, e-survey and video technology through the Group's WAN — Aditya Birla Information Highway.

The IT function is instrumental in developing strategic relationships with the IT industry, professional bodies and business organisations.
